Jamaica

Trees That Feed Foundation focused their initial efforts to better the lives of those in need on Jamaica. Despite a thriving tourist industry, poverty and rampant hunger-related maladies still exist in this tropical paradise. Five years and approximately 15,000 trees later, TTFF’s efforts have been extremely beneficial to the people and the economy of Jamaica. Breadfruit is grown and sold by farmers to tourists, natives, and a local food processing company that makes breadfruit snack products. TTFF’s achievements in Jamaica and the knowledge they gained on-island, helped facilitate the replication of similar projects in Haiti and Puerto Rico.
