In Nigeria, 3,000 people a day die from hunger. With the support of former president Olusegun Obasanjo, several hundred trees were sent to the country and are being grown on his farm. The fruit from the trees will be distributed to local people in need. Future plantings of breadfruit are being planned to drastically reduce the hunger-related maladies afflicting the country.
